Ethereal Adaptive Wear.

What. For my Line Development class, we were assigned a project to create an adaptive occasionwear brand for amputees. This was a semester-long project where we worked towards the final project at the end of the semester. As a team, we created the adaptive wear brand Ethereal, which started out as a small idea and later became something amazing that we worked hard on completing.

Process. Like every project, our team started off by researching the ins and outs of adaptive wear tailored specifically for bilateral leg amputees. We then created a brand persona that led us to fully expand on our ideas. With the help of a well-known NY-based fashion designer, Sylvia Hysiel, she helped us choose what pieces we should include in our collection. From there, our team was able to establish what details were needed to make it come to life, and we even had the opportunity to work with CLO3D to create a 3d version of our garments.

Final. This project was definitely a challenge as we had no prior experience in creating a collection in its entirety. With that being said, I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to line development as it is a career I could see myself partake in in the near future.
